Help for Hurricane Victims

Like so many in our country, our hearts go out to those affected by the devastating flooding brought by hurricanes Harvey and Irma—especially given our awareness of the hazards of toxic mold in the home environment, which, if undetected or treated improperly, can continue to compromise health long after the initial cleanup has been done. In our desire to help these families with this critical aspect of recovery, momsAWARE has elected to provide financial assistance toward an important first step in assessing the health and safety of their water-damaged homes.

ERMI LogoThe ERMI (Environmental Relative Moldiness Index) test is a dust sampling analysis identifying 36 species of mold. The smaller HERTSMI test identifies five of the most common species of toxic mold. Both tests involve using a Swiffer-type cloth to swipe the dust from any area of concern and submitting it to a qualified lab for analysis, and are available for purchase through our Online Store. While no single test is definitive for evaluating the status of an environment, we recommend either of these methods as a starting point and have heard from many families who've found them extremely helpful.

Help for Hurricane Victims: Our Offer

ERMI Mold Test: $30.00 subsidy per test (full price is $290.00)
HERTSMI Mold Test: $20.00 subsidy per test (full price is $155.00)

This offer can be activated by ordering through our Online Store and entering code RECOVERY2017 at checkout.

We make this offer to you, our subscribers, in hopes that you will pass it along to anyone you know who has been impacted by hurricanes Harvey or Irma. Please note that this is a limited-time offer and will expire when our available funds have been expended.

Those new to the issue of toxic mold are also encouraged to explore the helpful articles on our website, as well as the book Is Your House Making You Sick? A Beginner's Guide to Toxic Mold, available from Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions.
