Cloth diapering for a newborn, Any advice? was created by Alina
I only started cloth diapering when my second child had just turned 2. I'm now expecting my 3rd, and plan to continue, because I love it However, I have no idea what to expect when cloth diapering a newborn. I'm trying to get an idea of how big my stockpile needs to be, and things like that.
Right now, I have a ton of inserts and doublers that I have used for a couple of months for my daughter, that I can still use for the baby. I also have 18 fitted diapers, and 3 FLIP one size covers, 1 size small Thirsties cover, and 4 AIO diapers (in either small or one size). I also have bigger sizes, but I'm sure I have enough of those. To someone who has cloth diapered a newborn, does what I just listed sound like enough? I just really want to make sure I have enough for about 3 days. I can do laundry more often than that when I'm home, but like to play it safe
One more (different) question: any advice on using (or not using) cloth diapers in the hospital?? I'm a little apprehensive, to be honest. I'm wondering if it will be considered "too much" to expect from the nurses to use the cloth diapers. Also if it will be too much on me (not the diapering while I'm there, but the catching up on diaper laundry when I get home, and storing the diapers while we're there) Anyone cloth diapered from birth, in the hospital? What are your thoughts/opinions?
Recently, i found this website. www.storeofbaby.com/. The price is very attractive. Anyone buy from this???

Alina,
I have absolutely no experience with this! Our forum is pretty quiet. Sure seems like you're asking the right questions. From my perspective I don't see why you can't use disposable in the hospital - just to give a little breathing room for yourself. This is my favorite website on the topic.
