I am really enjoying your website, thank you for all of your hard work. I am curious if I need to keep my face cream that I made with cream and Keifer in the refrig or is it okay sitting in my closet? I love the cleanser made with castile soap and almond oil, feels so good on the face. I have used Mary Kay cosmetic for over 30 years, plus I was once a director, so this is a bit of a change for me. I was diagnosed a year ago with celiacs, so am eating a lot of organic fruits and veggies. My passion is cooking so when I find a website like yours I get very excited!

Thank you and God Bless!
I used to listen to you on WDLM when you were still having babies!

Hi Marilyn!

Yes, I keep my kefir in the fridge. It will keep approx 6 months in the refrigerator. It eventually becomes a habit to grab it before heading to the shower. I think the castile soap/almond oil might do better with refrigeration if you're making it in bulk. (Maybe you're making enough for one or two days). If you want to make more ahead of time, you can extend the shelf life by adding Grapefruit seed extract which is a natural preservative. Other preservatives include vitamin C powder. Vitamin A powder, wheat germ oil which is Vitamin E.

Thanks for the encouragement...sounds like we go waaaay back :)

Good Morning,
Do you have a recipe for a body wash and an exfoliating body wash?

Thanks and God Bless!

A simple body wash is to take 2 tsp liquid castile soap and combine with 1 c. water. Combine in a jar and shake. This has an indefinite shelf life.
You can add 5 drops tea tree oil and/or 1 tsp glycerin for added antiseptic benefit and moisturizing benefit.

Orris Root makes an excellent scrub. Combine with a little water.
Sea salt also works great. I combine it with lemon juice and use on my face.
