Hi Marilyn,
I used to be a Mary Kay consultant as well although it was short lived (became one in college...college students have zero $!) Anyway, I'm glad to know you are using the face cleanser. I'm almost out of my commercially made face cleanser and I was looking for something to replace it with. I will look again on the personal care tab for the recipe.
I will say a prayer for you and your illness. Take care and I hope to hear more from you!

I am so pleased with your site. I found you when listening to you and Chris Fabry on a Toxic Talk Tuesday several months ago and love Moody Radio.
Can you make a recommendation or provide a resource to help me with the following pest problem?
I am a registered nurse and work with many homeless patients. In April 2011, I had symptoms of what seemed to be scabies. All treatments have failed to eliminate the crawling sensation I experience now. I have the sensation mostly in my hair and on my face. I am symptom free immediately after a natural treatment but symptoms return several hours later. It is possible that my treatment technique is faulty. I am so discouraged.
History:
I was treated about 5 to 10 times with Rx pesticides and OTC pesticides. I really regret this exposure. All the initial treatments failed. I am now applying treatments listed for lice in "Better Basics for the Home" and "Kleen Green Naturally" enzyme cleaner that I found on line.
Thank you.

Sounds so tough! Have you tried calcium bentonite clay? Living Clay is highly respected. You can look into taking it internally or simply make a paste and apply to itchy areas.
Just another thought.

Oh, thank you. Should I also comb it through my hair? I found a local supplier and will get it today!
Last edit: 12 years 5 months ago by Juliann Swan. Reason: I called a local supplier who gave me more information on internal application of the liquid clay.

Rhassoul clay is better to use for hair. Here is a link that answers questions about the use of this bentonite clay:

I was pretty skeptical about replacing deodorant. After looking at several recipes, I found one that you can put into a washed out deodorant stick container. Mix 1/4 c baking soda with 1/4 c cornstarch (or arrowroot powder), then mix in 5-6 Tbsp coconut oil. This works better than any deodorant I have ever used!! My husband loves it too. I also mixed in about 5 drops of lavendar essential oil. (This made it temporarily thinner, but it then returned to a consistency more like a stick of deodorant.) You can also just put it on with your hand. The lavendar scent does not last all day, but I have NO odor. We have both been using this batch for about a month and have a lot left.
